Top 10 List: My Top 10 Songs to Listen to

1. You Are - By Charlie Wilson

I love to listen to this song when I miss my sweetie. This is our song that we are going to dance to at our wedding if we get married. I remember the first time we listened to it it was beautiful. Me and him were watching a DVD copy of the BET awards for 2013 and Charlie Wilson, Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell were performing a bunch of Charlie's songs. When this one came on he started to cry, pulled me close (hugging and staring in my eyes) and said that this song is how he feels about me and this is our song. To this day just thinking about that moment makes me smile.

2. Holes In The Floor Of Heaven - By Steve Wariner

This song always is going to make me cry. It's going to make me cry because i always think of my mom when i hear it. I also played it at her funeral. I played this song at her funeral because every time that it rains i know that its her wishing that she could be here with me. Ever since her funeral every time i go to her grave it rains even in the winter. It's a beautiful song that I used to like to listen to before she passed away, back then I didn't cry when I listened to it, but I still love to listen to it when I miss her the most.

3. Letters From Home - By John Micheal Montgomery

This song is one I like to listen to when I think of my uncle Myke or any of our other soldiers. This song touches me because I would have loved to been able to send letters back and forth to my uncle Myke when he was across seas. I know our soldiers need letters from home to remind them why they are away from home sometimes, I know I would. Funny little story about this song, at my moms funeral when they went to play Holes In The Floor Of Heaven they accidentally played this one because they were on the same mixed CD that I had and my handwriting wasn't that good and they couldn't read what number that I wrote to tell them what number the song was. When I think back to that moment I begin to wonder if that was a sign from my mom telling me she wanted this song to be played too.

4. The Little Girl - By John Micheal Montgomery

This song is just a song that I used to listen to growing up. It's sad just as well as a happy one. This is a song about a little girl who saw her dad kill her mom and then himself as she hid behind the couch. It starts off sad but ends happily.

5. Quickie - By Miguel

This is a very good song to listen to. It's real catchy and has a good beat to it. This is more of a love making song but I still like it a lot. This actually was the first song I heard from Miguel. Miguel is very talented, he kind of has that prince vibe but for today's generation of listeners. Miguel has quite a number of good songs to listen to.

6. Drop The World - By Lil Wayne feat. Eminem

This song has a lot of metaphors about life and about how some people feel. One of the metaphors I can relate to is one that is said by Eminem. "It hurts but i never show this pain you'll never know if  only you could see just how lonely and cold, and frostbit I've become, my back's against the wall when push come to shove, i just stand up and scream **** em all." When I hear Eminem say that it reminds me of when I was growing up and it seemed like I was an outcast with no friends. When I was growing up and going to elementary and middle school I really didn't have any friends and I always got teased, that's why i can relate to that lyric.

7. Don't Take The Girl - By Tim Mcgraw

This song is a very beautiful one about a love story. The song tells the story of two young lovers dealing with difficult scenarios at three different stages in their lives. In each situation, the man does all he can to make sure different people "don't take the girl." I listen to the song just to hear the story of those two childhood lovers it's just that moving and sweet. I do tend to cry at the end sometimes because the end is sad. especially when he asks god to take him instead of her it reminds me of how I felt when mom died.

8. When I'm Gone - By Eminem

I can relate to this song by Eminem because when i do eventually die i don't want everyone to mourn about my passing. The lyrics in the song that best supports that is...
"And when I'm gone just carry on don't mourn,
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice, just know that,
I'm lookin' down on you smilin'
And I didn't feel a thing so baby, don't feel no pain, just smile back".
That's the chorus also known as the hook. I want my friends and family to play this song at my funeral just for the chorus because the chorus is me speaking to them. The chorus really says what i want to say to my friends and family when I'm on the other side, it does not miss a beat. I also love the beat to the song very catchy.

9. There Goes My Baby - By Charlie Wilson

I love this song by Charlie Wilson. I thought that it was a beautiful thing when he dedicated song this for Snoop Dogg and his wife for their anniversary back in 2009. Yet again Charlie Wilson is pulling at my heart strings with this song. When I hear this song I think of me watching my sweetie walk up and down the street taking care of his business. I get in a daze watching him walking up and down the street thinking about this song. Charlie Wilson knows how to make music about love catchy, mesmerising, and beautiful.

10. Seven Spanish Angels - By Willie Nelson and Ray Charles

This song was played at my moms funeral by my step dad where I heard it for the first time, but the version I heard was only Willie Nelson singing. The song is about a Mexican outlaw and his girlfriend who are trying to outrun a posse trying to return them to Texas. When they are finally cornered and exhausted from running, they decide to fight the approaching lawmen with gunfire.
After each fatal shooting, seven Spanish angels gather (presumably in Heaven) to pray for "the lovers in the Valley of the Gun." After the gunfights end and the smoke clears, "there was thunder from the throne" and the angels proceed to take "another angel home".
I'm glad to say my step dad had a good choice of song to dedicate to my mom at her funeral.

Me By The Numbers

2- I have two brothers and two sisters. One of my brothers is a step brother named Jordan, me and Jordan are two weeks apart in age. My little brother and me have the same father but different mothers his name is Derrick, me and Derrick are 8 years apart in age. one of my sisters is a step sister named Krystal, me and Krystal are 3 years apart in age. Krystal and Derrick have the same mother but different fathers. My little sister named Sabrina, Me, and Derrick all have the same father and different mothers. Me and Sabrina are also 8 years apart in age, but Sabrina and Derrick are only 8 months apart in age. I love all of my siblings the same and I'm very proud to call them my siblings.

My Mom
26- On the 26th of October 2007 my lovely mother Shelley passed away from a heart attack, she was only 39. I was 18 years old at the time of her passing. the day she died i was next door babysitting for my neighbor while she was at work. This was the worst day of my life because not only did i lose my mother but i lost one of my best friends. To this day its hard for me to live without my mom but i do the best i can, for her.

Me as a baby
31- On August 31, 1989 at 2:07 pm at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland a beautiful baby girl was born, she weighed 9 lbs 8 oz. This baby girl was me!!! That's the day my crazy life officially started. I was born to Shelley and Gregory a couple of newly weds, who were only 21 at the time. I would always tell my mom when i found out that she was 21 when she had me was "I'll never be pregnant on my 21st birthday." I kept that promise.

Me and My Mom

1968- On August 29, 1968 one of my best friends who would give birth to a precious little girl named Misty 21 years later was born, her name was Shelley. This of course is my mom who i'm talking about. My mom was my everything when i was 2 years old her and my dad got divorced and she became a single mother. If it wasn't for her being a strong woman i wouldn't be the woman i am today. When i was in elementary school, 4th grade, my mom went back to school to get herself a degree. She went to OCC to become a nurse but because of her health fell 3 classes shy of her degree.

1999- The title of a Prince album that i used to listen to growing up, because my mom LOVED Prince. My mom at the time of her death had every last Prince album except Crystal Ball. She had been to a few Prince concerts too. so "Let's party like it's 1999."

My Dad, Me, and My Mom at my graduation.

2007- On June 3rd 2007 i graduated from Walled Lake Central High School. This was the proudest day of my moms life. My dad tried to surprise me that day by being there but he couldn't i was too smart for that. I just knew that he wasn't going to miss the most important day of my life.

2011- On February 11th 2011 i met the love of my life. His name is Mike he's older than me but i don't care about age because age is just a number. Me and Mike have been together ever since. In 2016 we will have been together for 5 years. Everytime i turn around he's doing something to make me laugh and that's why i love him with all of my heart.
